Premier of Tasmania – Securing the Future of Effervescence Tasmania

November 8, 2021

Sarah Courtney, Minister of Tourism, Hospitality and Events

Effervescence Tasmania’s future has been cemented by a confirmed three-year funding agreement to deliver the festival in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Effervescence is a regional weekend event showcasing some of Tasmania’s top sparkling wine producers and helping to secure Tasmania’s reputation as Australia’s home of premium sparkling wines.

Originally funded by the Events Tasmania Regional Start-up Grant funding program from 2016 to 2018, this event is a wonderful example of the government’s commitment to develop and support sustainable events that showcase all that our beautiful condition has to offer, while providing a vital boost to the tourism and hospitality industry

We know that COVID-19 has presented many challenges and uncertainties for our event planners, which is why I am so excited that $ 85,000 in funding is being provided to deliver Effervescence over the next three years.

The Government of Tasmania invests in events and festivals as they are an integral part of our way of life and our tourism economy which supports local businesses and jobs.

We will continue to be a strong supporter of our world-class events industry and strive to attract, retain and develop events that will drive economic growth in every region of the state.
